The Australian National Maritime Museum showcases Australia’s maritime history covering all aspects of Australia’s connection to the sea; from trade to defence and migration with stimulating exhibitions both permanent and roving blockbuster exhibits.
The immersive Action Stations experience will amaze you with fascinating stories. Children young and old love to climb aboard the tall ships (when in port), navy vessels and even a cold war submarine.
There are not one but two dedicated areas for children; a newly renovated under 5’s interactive play zone and Kids on Deck craft activities.

Please note; Open daily 9:30am – 5pm. Closed Christmas day.
There is a minimum height 90cm to board the vessels, prams and baby carriers are not permitted on board tall ships, warships and submarine.
Admission to some galleries is free however to experience all the exhibits you will need to purchase ‘the big ticket’ to gain full access to the museum.
